Occupational therapy's role is to "help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes. Occupational therapy services typically include:
- an individualized evaluation, during which the client/family and occupational therapist determine the person’s goals,
- customized intervention to improve the person’s ability to perform daily activities and reach the goals, and
- an outcomes evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met and/or make changes to the intervention plan.
Occupational therapy services may include comprehensive evaluations of the client’s home and other environments (e.g., workplace, school), recommendations for adaptive equipment and training in its use, and guidance and education for family members and caregivers. Occupational therapy practitioners have a holistic perspective, in which the focus is on adapting the environment to fit the person, and the person is an integral part of the therapy team. " 1
Do you travel?People tend to thrive the best when they are in the comforts of their own environment, whether that is in their house, work, school, or other associated place of familiarity. CMTherapy offers a free 15 mile radius of travel so as to help accommodate what is most appropriate and comfortable for their patients. An extra $15.00 fee is added on to the price of treatment for sessions that take place 16 miles or further from CMTherapy headquarters.
How much are your services?
Occupational therapy services may include comprehensive evaluations of the client’s home and other environments (e.g., workplace, school), as well as regular treatment sessions. A standard OT evaluation is a flat rate of $150.00 and is done annually (should the client need it, or has to come back to therapy after an absence of a year or more). A standard treatment session is $85.00 per hour which is comparative to Medicare/Medicaid rates in NWA. It is also cheaper than an out of pocket pay to see a psychiatrist and psychologist.

Do you take insurance?
Due to the increased demands that insurance places on health care providers. CMTherapy is a 100% cash-based practice. CMT believes that insurance should not be the dictator to your health care needs. In other words you should not have to meet a cap before they pay, you should not only be allotted 'x' amount of sessions.
How long are your sessions?
Occupational therapy sessions are typically an hour in length which includes 10 min of documentation time for the therapist to keep the clients chart up-to-date. We do not charge for going over an extra 5-10 min if needed. After 15 min an extra charge of a 15 min Unit is added.
How long will I need to be in therapy for?
CMTherapy's goal is to get you in and get you out. It all depends on the client. Some clients have only needed a couple of standard treatment sessions. Others would benefit from a couple of months. This is a collaborative process to help you gain your independence so you don't need to constantly be in therapy.
Do you prescribe medication?
It is not within the scope of practice to prescribe medication. While medication can be used as a great resource to help people struggling with mental ailments, CMTherapy will not prescribe or advise on medicinal use. We recommend you see your PCP or other health care provider to guide you with your medication.
Do you diagnose?
Occupational therapist do not diagnose, but we do perform assessments to confirm the presences of a disorder as well as help figure out best practices to help you treat your ailments both mental and physical.
